Meet your teachers
Megan Fedorenchik Kalocinski
Megan Fedorenchik Kalocinski, MS, CNS, NBC-HWC, is a 2011 graduate of IIN and is the proud founder and owner of Empower Functional Nutrition and Integrative Health Coaching, where she serves as a functional clinical nutritionist, national board-certified health and wellness coach, and instructor. Megan has faced her own trials and tribulations dealing with health issues. She learned to balance her own life with simple whole-food nutrition, targeted lab testing, proper vitamin and nutrient supplementation, digestive repair, and healthy lifestyle choices. As a former teacher of ten years, Megan is experienced in how balanced health and wellness affect everyone from every age, starting with our youngest populations.
Elizabeth Mander
Elizabeth Mander is an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach who has achieved board certification through the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaches (NBHWC) as well as the International Association of Health Coaches (IAHC). She earned a Master of Science degree in Health Coaching from International Health Coach University and is also a trained Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) group facilitator. In addition to instructing students in the Coaching Intensive Practicum, Elizabeth is also a Coaching Circle Coach for IIN’s Health Coach Training Program. As a Health Coach, Elizabeth specializes in motivational coaching and creative expression.
Merritt Tracy
Merritt Tracy is a National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach with over a thousand hours of coaching experience. Her practice is focused on women’s hormonal balance and corporate wellness. She graduated from IIN in 2012 and provides individual and group coaching through her own practice and in partnership with healthcare practitioners and companies. Merritt is an instructor for IIN’s Coaching Intensive Practicum and a Community Coordinator in IIN’s Hormone Health Course. She is passionate about helping women find balance in their lives and hormones.
What do I need to get started?
The only prerequisite is that you must have completed our Health Coach Training Program or received a certificate from another health coaching program.

Discover key coaching skills such as motivational interviewing and stages of change, and communication skills like mirroring and powerful questioning. Learn to guide clients to reach their goals as well as gain knowledge to sit for the NBHWC board exam.
Modules 1-3
-Learn about the three phases of a coaching program, how to co-create a coaching relationship, and deepen understanding of scope of practice
-Gain insights into the power of listening and the skills needed to create an effective and safe coach-client relationship
-Dive deeper into the key skills you need to communicate with clients and facilitate behavior change
Modules 4-7
-Explore self-awareness and how to shift perspective that allows clients to overcome limiting beliefs
-Take an in-depth look at how motivation and emotion are resources for goal-oriented behavior, and other techniques for client-identified change
-Learn how to work through resistance and ambivalence, as well as how to provide accountability to empower clients to break through difficult roadblocks and track their own progress
Modules 8-10
-Learn and practice how to effectively tap into a client's strengths with the power of positivity
-Gain an understanding of how to facilitate group coaching sessions that allow you to navigate different personalities and learning styles
-Review and discuss the NBHWC Code of Ethics and consider the professional responsibility of coaches to conduct themselves in an ethical manner
Modules 11-12
-There are no new modules released during these two weeks, but rather, take time to wrap up your assignments and study for the final exam

Frequently asked questions
What is included in the course?
The Coaching Intensive Practicum is based on a live, interactive learning experience. There are two 90-minute live group calls every week (for a total of 22 webinars). These calls will be recorded and available on the Learning Center for replay, but your live attendance is mandatory to pass the course.
In weeks 1-10, a new module will open every Monday morning at 9am ET that you will gain access to in the Learning Center. Each module will include several prerecorded lectures, a self-assessment quiz, a module recap, optional recommended reading, and an occasional handout or reading assignment.
Does completing this course automatically qualify me to take the credentialing exam?
No. Upon successful completion of this course, IIN graduates are eligible to apply to sit for the certification exam offered by the NBHWC. Students interested in applying should consult NBHWC in advance of their course graduation date to take note of application requirements and registration deadlines.
I’m not sure if I want to take the credentialing exam. Are there any other benefits of taking this course?
Yes! This course can benefit any Integrative Nutrition Health Coach who wants to learn about evidence-based best practices for working with clients and have an opportunity to practice their skills and receive constructive feedback in an intimate learning environment.
What title do I earn after taking this course?
Your title will not change as a result of completing this course. While you will receive a digital certificate of completion, this course was designed to fulfill the education prerequisite for IIN graduates to be able to apply for the NBHWC certification exam. Completing this course does not grant you certification nor does it guarantee your acceptance to take the NBHWC certification exam.
